8/23/2008 Charity Benefit featuring Don "Tulsa" McLean as Elvis at the Garden City Knights of Colombus, 2-8pm! Elvis show starts at 6pm! Cost: $8 includes spaghetti dinner and Elvis show! Why: This benefit will be held for Jessica Grzych, an 18 year old who was recently diagnosed with Acute Myelogenous Leukemia (AML) in April of this year, just 2 months before her graduation at Northville High School. She started chemotherapy right away and is being treated at Mott Children's Hospital at the University of Michigan. Her treatments require her to be in the hospital for about 5 weeks with only about 1 week rest in between. She is in her 3rd round of chemotherapy now and will undergo a bone marrow transplant next month. In a rare twist of fate, her father, Walt, is a match and will be the donor. She starts college in January when she recovers from her bone marrow transplant. This benefit is for her!

Besides being an award-winning Elvis Tribute Artist, Don is a very talented young man. He has been playing saxophone for approximately 12 years now and is a founding member of a local oldies band, The Phenomenals, in which he plays saxophone and sings. Check out the links page to get to the Phenomenals website! Don is also an accomplished first degree black belt at Schollenberger's Tang Soo Do Korean Karate Academy! He has a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration Madonna University, recently graduating with a 3.85 GPA! Currently, McLean is pursuing his MBA with a focus in marketing from Madonna University!
